Overdraft Shopping

This morning i went to the bank.

Now, i am not 18 until next weeek, So i can't get my overdraft until then. Of course the man on the phone didn't tell me this. No matter, The nice lady at natwest took my application and will process it when i am 18, i.e. next thursday.

But the problem is i went in there to get a student account with a one thousand pound overdraft. I came out with a one thousand two hundred and fifty pount overdraft and a credit card with a £500 limit :s And i don't know how!

This is really quite dangerous.

I can sense this going wrong.

just be careful, ok?
Credit cards are dangerous, and I'd say one thing. Don't keep it with you. Either, keep it somewhere you know is safe and use it for emergencies, or give it to someone you can trust and then get them to give it to you for when you need it.

Just keep a check on your spending and you'll be fine...you can survive easily on your student loan as is, so your overdraft will just act as a safety net.

Personally, I'd cut up the card, and if you want to go that way, apply for one yourself whilst looking through the pros and cons. The one you have is probably not the best one out there, or the best one for you. Read all the small print and work out how much you'll actually be paying back to them.
