Roses and Thorns

Lie with me on this bed made of roses,
Together we’ll watch the stars burn.
Grasp at my hand and tell me you love me,
Together we’ll conquer the world.

Don’t turn from me and stare down at the ground,
For my heart will break over you.
Don’t shrug off my touch and throw me away,
For my life will tear into two.

Please feel the silk of the petals beneath,
Don’t kick them away with your leg.
I’ll give you a rose, you’ll give me a thorn,
You’ll hurt me and play with my head.

I’m begging you, please, to love me once more,
Even if you use me again.
I’m asking you to hold me some closer,
Because without you I’ll go insane.

Without looking back you stand up and leave,
And I know the love has now gone.
You walk away and I watch as you shrink;
My heart bleeds but still you go on.

Addicted to you is the worst I could be,
But without you is equally bad.
Craving soft touching and needing your lips’,
I’ll love you until I go mad.

that's the exact thing I've been saying, it's just never been paraphrased. That's something quite beautiful.
